What Is NaturFoam™?

Why We Don’t Use Polyurethane Memory Foam
Most “memory foam” mattresses on the market rely on polyurethane (PU) foam, a petroleum-derived material first developed for industrial insulation. Over the years, it’s been adapted for bedding, but with compromises that don’t align with Haven’s standards.
Here’s why:
1. Petroleum-Based and Synthetic
Polyurethane foams are made from crude oil byproducts. They’re not renewable, and their production creates significant carbon emissions. NaturFoam™ replaces much of that petroleum with renewable plant oils reducing our carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels.
2. Off-Gassing and Chemical Odour
That “new mattress smell” you may notice with many memory foam beds? It’s volatile organic compounds (VOCs) being released into your home. Haven’s NaturFoam™ is CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning it’s made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, or formaldehyde.
3. Heat Retention
