Why Sleep Should Top Your List of New Year’s Resolutions

“New year, new me” is the motto most people live by as one year gives way to the next. But are your priorities really in the right place? In 2019, it’s time to make sleep your new BFF. Most New Year’s resolutions revolve around things like eating better, losing weight, and achieving financial goals, but sleep does not usually make the list. Despite the importance of a good night’s sleep, getting a little shut-eye often gets pushed aside in favor of more exciting activities.

Even if you feel fine on five or six hours of sleep, you’re probably not catching enough Zs to keep your body running at its max. If you’re one of the 40% of people who make resolutions to do better in the new year, sleep should be your number one priority.
