Drawing on their extensive experience from their Bahamian resort project, Island of Bryan, Bryan and Sarah seemed to have approached the challenge with a clear goal: to create a hotel experience that wasn’t just visually striking but also delivered ultimate comfort and relaxation for guests. Their solution  appeared—infuse every detail with the warmth and tranquility of a tropical getaway, while ensuring that every guest felt pampered during their stay.

In the first round of 100-Day Hotel Challenge, Bryan and Sarah were tasked with revamping both a single and a double room for a beachfront hotel. The design inspiration for the project came from Tulum, Mexico, with the goal of evoking the same sense of serenity and relaxation as a tropical escape. Working with a $30,000 budget to cover both rooms, Bryan and Sarah needed to ensure their designs delivered the best experience for a wide range of guests—from solo travelers to families.

In the single room, they incorporated bold fluting across the ceiling, symmetrical globe sconces, and goldenrod trim to frame the cove lighting, bringing a touch of warmth and brightness. The custom-cut headboard echoed the dunes and waves outside the hotel, creating a visual centerpiece that not only elevated the space but added a touch of whimsy. Custom drawers flanked each side of the bed, and a mirrored vanity was cleverly integrated into the room to offer both functionality and style.

The double room continued the coastal theme with neutral tones and light wood accents, complemented by cobalt blue fluted pedestals serving as nightstands. The natural textures and calming color palette worked together to create an airy, relaxing environment that felt like a true vacation retreat.
