Our #SafeHaven Promise
Canada's First Social Impact Mattress Company
Every mattress company donates damaged or returned products to charity. That's just common business sense. The problem is that most charities, especially the ones that are helping the most vulnerable of our community are space limited. They simply can't handle the abundance of Queen and King size beds that are the bulk of mattress returns. As a result, thousands of these rejected donations ended up in landfills across Canada.
Haven was the first "Second Slumber Certified" mattress zero waste partner in Canada. Second slumber collects, refurbishes and resells these highly reusable products. Where reselling is a challenge they partner with brand affiliates to ensure we operate as close to zero waste as possible. In 2020 Haven posted a 0.003% waste rating. It's estimated that this partnership saves thousands of almost brand new mattresses from wasteful disposal.
In 2016, before the first Haven mattress was ever built or sold. The team committed to making the biggest social impact to the most vulnerable of Canadians. Those unfortunate enough to find themselves with a bed. For each 10 Havens sold we will build and donate a Twin/XL size mattress designed to the charities spec for waterproofing and durability.
All of our nonprofit organizations are vetted through our 15-point criteria system to ensure level of commitment and integrity.
